About the Photographer

BRENT MURPHY

Thank you for viewing this web site. My name is Brent Murphy, and I am a photographer based in Denver, Colorado. I grew up in northeast Ohio, where I took up golf in high school, and have now been playing for over 20 years. During college, I worked on the maintenance crew at beautiful Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville, Ohio. Working there gave me a deep appreciation for the qualities that make a good golf course, which can then be translated into golf course imagery. The beautiful green of a fairway in the morning, saturated colors of autumn leaves and native grasses in late afternoon light, ponds as smooth as glass. There was no better feeling than being alone on the golf course as the sun came up, and the deer and foxes slowly made their way back into the forest for the day. These are the qualities that would later come to influence me as a photographer.

Eventually, I was drawn to the mountain lifestyle of the West, and moved to Colorado in 1998. My love of the Colorado landscapes naturally lent itself to photography, which I took up soon after moving here. There is no shortage of beautiful landscape and wildlife subjects here in the Rocky Mountain region
