I have been instilled with a love of nature and wild places since my childhood. Growing up in the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley in northeast Ohio, I spent my youth camping, fishing, rafting and canoeing with family and friends. During college, I discovered backpacking on a portion of the Appalachian Trail in Virginia. Soon after, I got my first taste of the mountains on a weeklong backpacking trip in the Canadian Rockies. I was hooked.

More backpack trips followed, to Idaho and California, and convinced me that a life in the mountains was calling. Soon after, I made the decision to move to Denver, Colorado, where I still reside with my wife Lisa, daughter Caitlin, son Connor, and our crazy dog Pippa. From here, I am able to explore the grandeur of the best America has to offer: the towering summits of the Rocky Mountains, the endless blue skies of the Colorado Plateau, and the broad expanses of the Great Plains.

My love of nature has naturally extended into my photography. I spent many years shooting snapshots of my travels before finally realizing that photographing nature had become an important part of my experience. I now share my photography with others, to help promote the beauty and majesty of the places I love.

I also hope my work can do some small thing to help preserve the wild spaces I love. The most beautiful places on earth -- the majestic mountains, ancient forests, canyons carved by eons of wind an water, as well as the flora and fauna that occupy them -- are all in danger of being overrun by ever-encroaching human development. As a lifelong nature enthusiast, I hope my photographs make people aware of the beauty and fragility of our natural world, and encourage others to make an effort to help preseve it. I hope you will view my work and appreciate the wonderful land around us, and do your part to make sure these places are here for many years to come.
